Crispy General Tso's Chicken

A spicy Asian style sauce tops crispy breaded chunks of succulent white meat chicken and fresh-cut vegetables, all on a bed of steamed white rice. Our General Tso’s Chicken is a winner every time. Includes steamable rice pouch.

Cooking Instructions

Keep frozen until use. Cook thoroughly.
Remove sauce packet; thaw in warm water.

STOVETOP (recommended):

To Cook Chicken and Vegetables:

  1. Heat 1½ Tbsp. vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Immediately add chicken and stir-fry 3 to 4 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown.
  3. Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
  4. Add vegetables and stir-fry 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Turn off heat, add sauce and stir 30 seconds.
  6. Add chicken, stirring to coat with sauce.

To Cook Rice: Do not cut, puncture or open steamable pouch.

  1. Microwave rice pouch, seam side up, on high 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Let stand 1 minute.
  3. Open pouch with caution. Steam will be hot.
  4. Serve with chicken and vegetables.

    Or,

  1. Empty rice into a skillet on stovetop.
  2. Add 1 Tbsp. water, cover and cook over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Serve immediately with chicken and vegetables.

MICROWAVE (not recommended):

Do not cook in container. Only rice pouch is microwaveable. Do not place any other packaging in microwave.

Remove sauce packet; thaw in warm water.

To Cook Chicken and Vegetables:

  1. Empty chicken into a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Heat uncovered for 1 to 1½ minutes. Set chicken aside.
  3. Empty vegetables into a microwave-safe dish and cover.
  4. Heat on high 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Stir sauce into vegetables. Re-cover and heat on high 30 seconds.
  6. Let stand 1 minute.
  7. Add chicken, stirring to coat with sauce.

Stir in 1 can (8 oz.) mandarin oranges, drained, during step 5 above to add a sweet note.
